# Seaside Cafe Umi no Stage

Places we stopped along the way　/　Numazu, Shizuoka

A cafe on Uchiura Bay with a view of the sea and Mt. Fuji. Posters from the anime "Love Live! Sunshine!!" decorate the room, and a white table waits by the water beyond the shady garden. I had a plate of yellow pilaf topped with brown sauce and crispy onions. Menus change, so check before you go.

## This moment in the journey: Lunch at a cafe straight out of an anime

For lunch I went to a cafe on the shore. A Nordic flag fluttered beside a sign reading "Umi no Stage." Numazu is also the setting of a popular anime: posters hung inside, and characters were drawn on the whiteboard by the door.

What arrived was a plate of yellow pilaf under a rich brown sauce and crispy fried onions. Lunch in an anime-like setting. Tasty, and happy. Through the shade of the garden, past a white table, the sea opened out.
