The Borrower Journey is a YouTube channel about traveling from place to place while borrowing the rich everyday life of each region and its beautiful old Japanese homes.
This site is the web edition of those episodes. Nearly every scene of each video appears here as a photo, so that reading an episode tells you everything the video does.
Each episode ends with The Borrower's Notes: the places I ate, the dishes I cooked and how they connect to the land, and the history and sights of the area. Shop details were researched from signs in the footage and other sources; opening hours can change, so please check before you go.
