The Ginza Line opened between Asakusa and Ueno in 1927 as the first subway in the East, and was completed all the way to Shibuya in 1939. The canopy over Exit 4 of Asakusa Station dates from that opening year. I rode the Ginza Line to get to Tsukiji.
